He was predeceased by: his parents, Nat Rampey Mitchell and Flora Ledbetter Mitchell; his wife Virginia Pitts Mitchell; his son Phillip Mitchell; and his siblings, Sue Hall, Bill, Nat and Bee Mitchell.
He is survived by: his great grandchild PawPaw; his children, Pam Sharbono (Bill) of Gardendale and Randy Mitchell (Mary Ellen) of Lineville; and his siblings, Mary Booker, Wilma Greenway of Cussetta and Mack Mitchell (Gail) of Lineville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
