He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Andrew Rice and Minnie Belle Mote Rice; his wife Frances "Dot" Rice; his son Christopher L. Rice; and his siblings, Leigley Rice, Ida McDonald, Ola Yarbrough, Ollie Cofield, Velma Hill, Ruth McClendon, Andrew Rice and John Brinton Rice.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Meads (Butch) of Piedmont and Dennis C. Rice (Deborah) of Jacksonville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
