With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruby Hayes Thigpen of Clanton, Alabama, who passed away on January 15, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Hayes and Rebecca Shepard Hayes; her husband Elliott "Butch" Van Note Thigpen; her children, Vicki Stokes, Vanessa Thigpen and Jody Thigpen; and her grandson Scott Stokes.

She is survived by: her son James "Jet" Elliot Thigpen (Cindy); and her grandchildren, Stephen Stokes, Van Thigpen (Katelyn) and Elizabeth McDonnell. She is also survived by 5 Great- Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel (1300 4th Ave N, Clanton, AL 35045). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church 210 6th St. N. Clanton, AL 35045 or to the charity of your choice.
