He was predeceased by: his mother Shirley Varden Smitherman; and his pet Vegas. He is survived by: his father Gerald Smitherman; his wife Regina Johnson Smitherman; his son Jacob Johnson (Summer); and his sister Sherry Caton (Gracie).
