He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzie Floyd Patterson and Ruby Pearl Varden Patterson; and his siblings, Doris Patterson, Donald Patterson and Gordon Patterson.
He is survived by: his sisters, Geraldine Patterson Thomas of Gardendale and Sheila Patterson Langston of Jemison; his nieces, Kristy Spann of Mt. Olive and Misty Traffica of Gardendale; and his nephew Kennon Patterson of Rockford.
