He was predeceased by: his parent Delene Hampton; his wife Marcelle Hampton; his father William "Bill" Hampton; his son James Lewis "Jim" Hampton, Jr.; his brother Bobby Hampton; and his nephew Curt Hampton.
He is survived by: his daughter Anna Marcia Smitherman (Smitty); his granddaughter Jessica Hampton Sneed; his nieces and nephews, Val Hampton Hunter (Andy), Sara Cook, Lea Tidmore, Debra Tate, Charles "Bubba" Stough (Demisha), Dana Folsom (Rosemary) and Don Folsom; and his siblings-in-law, Maxine Stough and Charles Stough.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel (1300 4th Ave N, Clanton, AL 35046). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
