She was predeceased by: her parents, J. W. Alfred Popwell and Roxie Payton Popwell; her husband James V. Vanderslice; and her siblings, Lois Griswald, James Popwell, Alfred Popwell and William Popwell.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Rivera (Miguel) of Athens, Faye Vanderslice Hansen (Dirk) of Sylacauga, Jim Vanderslice (Rita) of Carthage, MS, Emmett Vanderslice (Sharon) of Odenville and Douglas Vanderslice (Linda) of Clanton; her grandchildren, Miguel Rivera, Jr., Amanda Rivera Spenard, James Hansen, Mary Hansen, Mitchell Vanderslice, Matthew Vanderslice and Halie Vanderslice; her stepgrandchildren, Brooke Martin, Jeremy and Laura Huff; her great grandchildren, Daniel Spenard, John Spenard, Mark Spenard, Ariana Rivera, Ethan Vanderslice, Carson Vanderslice, Bentley Barker, Hannah Huff and Eli Huff; and her great great grandchildren, Brayden Spenard, Scarlett Spenard and Kinsley Spenard. She is also survived by friends and her church family.
