He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hearin and Margaret Hearin. He is survived by: his wife Ann Hearin; his children, Karen Hearin, Kenneth Hearin, Jr., Kathy Hearin, Kevin Hearin and Keith Hearin; and his siblings, Wayne Hearin and Deborah Hearin. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church in Citronelle, Alabama.
