He is survived by: his wife Sara Smith; his children, Elizabeth A. Smith, Yvonne Smith-Jeffrey (Adam), Thomas S. Smith (Margaret), Michael A. Smith (Deidra), Mark E. Smith (Autry), Rachel S. Gartman (Ron) and Joseph E. Smith (Becky); and his sister Shirley Jamerson. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
