Geraldine Wiggins Powell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Geraldine Wiggins Powell of Citronelle, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 24, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bonner C. Wiggins and Velma Clara Anderson Wiggins; her husband Franklin D. Powell; her grandsons, Joseph Franklin Salmon and Thomas Celsus Salmon; her great grandchild Collins Daree Jordan; and her siblings, Bonner Wiggins Jr., John Thomas Wiggins, Steve Wiggins, Coma Wiggins, Clara Liesen, Beatrice Drinkard, Katherine Nelson and Vera Davenport.
She is survived by: her children, Dan Powell (Connie) and Marie Salmon (Mike); her grandchildren, Alex Powell (Kayla) and Charley Jordan (Ethan); her great grandchild Carter Jordan; her brothers, Ellis Wiggins (Mary Jane) and Jerry Wiggins (Sue); and her sisters-in-law, Catherine Wiggins and Lenny Powell Westbrook. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A wake was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Baptist Church (19655 Mobile St N, Citronelle, AL 36522). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at the Brannan Cemetery.
