He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Toomey and Maggie Toomey; and his siblings, Bruce, Floyd O'Dell Toomey, Emma Jean Mosley and Audry Nell Murphy.

He is survived by: his wife Lille Toomey; his son Ronnie Toomey (Leslie); and his grandchildren, Jason Shereck (Elizabeth) and Tiphanie Johnston (Payton).
