It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnnie Burgess of Chunchula, Alabama, who passed away on March 20, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Charlie Burgess Sr. and Frances Sinie Burgess; his wife Alexena Burgess; his siblings, Randolph Burgess, Alfred Burgess Sr., Frances Lee Pamplin, Emily Bessie Burgess and Betsy Colbert; and his daughter Francina Burgess.
He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Finch, Willie Edward Burgess and Susie May Walter; and his children, Johnnie Burgess (New York), Julius Burgess (Pensylvania), Charlene Burgess (New York), Audrey Burgess (New York), Teresa Sowell (Alabama) and Jackie Lewis (Alabama). He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
