He is survived by: his brother Greg Bates (Carla); his daughter Brittney Baker; his granddaughter Harper Baker; his niece Regan Porter (Josh); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Elli Kate and Ganes; his nephew Trevor Bates (Kailey); and also Kacey.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel (1099 1st St NW, Childersburg, AL 35044). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

“Evan (Terry), was a treasured friend for over 41 years, he was more like my baby brother. We worked together at AT&T, and lived one street over from one another in Atlanta. We shared good & bad times together and I will miss him immensely. His laughter was infectious. He was the best friend anyone could ever have.
