He was predeceased by: his wife Eloise Mills; and his sister Virginia Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Laura Eloise Pritchett; his daughter Krista Welford; his son-in-law Joe Welford; his grandchildren, Jason Hoffman (Cindy) and Laura Kunard (Jeff); his great grandchildren, Hannah Hoffman, Rachel Hoffman, Christopher, Andrew and Gabriela Kunard; and his brother-in-law James Carpenter of Mobile. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Cherokee's Building Fund or Cherokee High School's Athletics Department.
