He is survived by: his children, Blake Simmons (Alie) and Madyson Johnson; his siblings, Tina Edgar (Anthony), Mary Young (Vince) and John Simmons (Daphine); his granddaughter Attalise Simmons; and his close friend Amy Ballard. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
