It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvina Mott of Chatom, Alabama, born in Bay Minette, Alabama, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Logan Richerson and Florence Richerson; her husband Bernie Mott; her siblings, Junior Richerson, Cecil Richerson, Vena Holman, Lula Tyree, Millie Minchew, Duma Chafin and Virginia Roberson; and her son-in-law Timmy Beasley.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rhonda O'Bryant (Willis), Barbara Pipkins (Donald) and Kathy Beasley; her sister Etta Gilley (James); her grandchildren, Jennifer McNease (Brian), Clint O'Bryant (Jamie), Casey Allen (Daniel) and Lauren Jenkins (Morgan); and her great grandchildren, Ean McNease, Lane Allen, Reenie Leigh McNease, Lexi Allen, Kendall Jenkins, Landri Allen and Abrie O'Bryant.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lathan Funeral Home (17484 Jordan St, Chatom, AL 36518). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Reynolds Holiness Church Cemetery (21571 AL-17, Chatom, AL 36518).
