He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas and Esther Cunningham Toomey; his wife Dorothy Scarbrough Toomey; his siblings, Eunice Keener, Alice Redding, Elvin Toomey and Paul Toomey; and his great grandchild J. B. Toomey.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley Barnes (Rodger), Wanda Johnston (Wayne) and James Larry Toomey (Loria); his brothers, Rev. Charles Fred Toomey, Carl Austin Toomey, Robert Vernon Toomey and Richard Lloyd Toomey; and his grandchildren, Shane Barnes (Carie), Brett Toomey, Ashlee Toomey, Jared Johnston (Jennifer) and Kim Merritt (Randall). He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Aquilla Community Church.
