He was predeceased by: his brother Eric Thompson; and his stepson Robby Jordan. He is survived by: his wife Penny Bell McDaniel; his children, Holly B. Jordan (Kathryn) and Marty McDaniel (Sheila); his grandchildren, Lucia, Elliott, Mazie Jordan, Dallas McDaniel and Gabrielle Turner; and his siblings, Jane Coale (Mark) and Bobby McDaniel.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in his memory be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
