He is survived by: his sons, Scott Brakefield and Wes Brakefield; his grandchildren, Kailin Simmons, Haiden Simmons, Alex Gravitt, Noah Brakefield, Shep Brakefield and Wynn Brakefield; and his siblings, Helen Champion, Diane Pierson and Larry Simmons. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
