She was predeceased by: her husband Irby Dawson; her parents, William Haney and Effie Haney; her son Johnny Dawson; and her siblings, Betty Puckett, Eva Puckett and Albert Haney.

She is survived by: her children, Wendy Pennell (Tim) and Lamar Dawson (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Amanda Bentley (David), Missy Reyes, Mathew Holman (Haley), Shane Dawson, Johnny Dawson (Sheena) and Jamie Dawson; and her siblings, James Haney (Sandra), Donald Haney, Roy Haney (Denise), Ann Parker (Elbert), Lavane Gilbert and Shelia Haney.
