He was predeceased by: his brother W. H. "Buck" Borders, Jr.; his daughter Mary Borders; and his parents, W. H. Borders and Elizabeth Ann Daniel Borders. He is survived by: his wife Susan Burns Borders; and his children, Daniel Borders (Brandy), Jon Borders (Marley), Jaedon Borders, Rebecca Borders and Julie Borders. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
