He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Jerrod Lynn Laws; his daughter Patricia Ann Norris; his brothers, Tracy Steele, Stevie Steele, Terry Steele and Ronald Steele; his grandson Thomas Devon Norris; and his parents, Thomas Carlyle Steele, Jr. and Gracie Mae Pointer Steele.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Royce "Ashley" Steele; his children, Lawrence James Steele, Jr. (Crystal), Tammy Lynn Brozio (Herman), Angela Marie Laws and Tracy Renee Ledford (Michael); and his sisters, Janice Woo and Ann Price. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
