He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Mark and Jessie Ruth Haggard Abernathy; and his siblings, Kenneth Ray, Danny Reb Abernathy, Margie Bearden and Betty Ann Abernathy.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Carol Abernathy; his children, Skylar David Prichard (Donald), Tammy Lynn Abernathy, Sonya Renae Pace (Robert) and Tonya Denae Mullins (Dustin); and his siblings, Billy Abernathy, Henry Abernathy, Glenn Abernathy (Carolynn) of Centre, Sarah Ruth Hunter, Virginia Slayton and Marie Corbin (A. J.). He is also survived by Five Grandchildren, one great Grandchild and several Nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
