He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gossett and Emma McCloud Gossett; and his siblings, Paul Gossett and Jane Davis. He is survived by: his wife Martha Jean King Gossett; his son Robert Wayne Gossett (Misty); his grandchildren, Wade Gossett and Carley Gossett; and his stepchildren, Dale Lamar, Jr., Edward Lamar (Cyndy), Tammy Lamar and Shelby Lamar. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
