He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Ann Kirk Kerr; his daughter Deborah Brock; and his parents, Norvel Kerr and Sarah Kerr. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Kerr and Theresa Jackson; his brother Gerald Kerr (Faye); his grandchildren, Anthony Jackson (Janna), Sierra Kerr, Jimmy Bishop and Justin Matthews; and his great grandchild William Jackson.
