He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Hester and Roma McCord Hester. He is survived by: his son Dalton Richardson of Cedar Bluff; and his siblings, Lance Hester (Leanne) of Titus, Jane Ann Hester of Cedar Bluff and Nancy Hodge (Foy) of Luverne.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to America Alzheimers Association or America Diabetes Association.
