With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nellie Chesnut Mitchell of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, born in Cherokee, Alabama, who passed away on May 31, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Erskine Mitchell, Sr.; her son John Phillip Mitchell; her son-in-law Wayne Brock; and her parents, Leonard Chesnut and Lena Manda.
She is survived by: her children, James "Jimmy" Erskine Mitchell, Jr. and Laura Ann Oliver (Edd). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; nurses.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Cherokee County Humane Society.
