Mary Evelyn Abernathy Obituary

Mary Evelyn Abernathy age 73 of Cedar Bluff passed away Thursday June 9th at her residence.

Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday June 11th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Odom and Rev. Bryan Williams officiating burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Tim Ransum, Brett Bias, Cody Bias, Alex Abernathy, Austin Abernathy and Grant Gilreath.

Survivors include husband, Jerry Abernathy; son, Terry (Holly) Abernathy; daughter, Robie Watwood; brother, Bill Watkins; brother-in-law, Donald Abernathy; grandchildren, Austin (Katlyn) Abernathy and Alex Abernathy; great-grandchild, Axton Lynn Abernathy; special friends, Tammy Ransum, Faye Abernathy, Martha Jo Sentell and Wanda Wood.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Jo Abernathy; granddaughter, Anda Lynn Drake and chosen parents, JW and Rose Watkins.

Mrs. Abernathy was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Robert and Ella Mae Watkins and was of the Holiness Faith.
