It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Merchant Sr. (Catherine, Alabama), who passed away on August 6, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton Merchant and Maude Opra Merchant; and his sister Deborah Merchant Fulkerson. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Merchant; and his children, Charles Alger Merchant, Jr. (Janet), Daniel Newton Merchant (Tambra), Jason Scott Merchant (Corrie), Linda Charlene Merchant Tate (Laurie), Theresa Ann Merchant Jordan (Troy) and Rachelle Diana Merchant Stannard (Mark). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; three sisters.
