He was predeceased by: his siblings, Aline McDill (Clyde), Iva Mae Parker (Tillmon), Faye Cowart (Sonny) and Joe Earl Oglesby (Betty); his brothers-in-law, Cois Aldridge and Reed Shaw; his nephew Ronnie Shaw; his nieces, Nancy and Barbara McDill; and his parents, Burman Butler Oglesby and Mattie Adell Perrigin Oglesby.
He is survived by: his siblings, Willie Hill Oglesby (Irene), Leon Oglesby (Pat), Minnie Shaw Aldridge and Betty Sims (Mearl); and his stepgrandchildren, Amanda Reece (Josh), Angela Williams (Jon) and Daniel Williams. He is also survived by three step great-granddaughters and three step great-grandsons; six nieces; five nephews and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35481.
