He is survived by: his mother Lorin Wright Akin; his sisters, Evelyn Akin McElroy and Ruth Akin Greer; his nieces and nephews, Andy McElroy, Bryan McElroy (Sherra), Erin Greer and Megan Greer; his great-nephews, Andrew, Auston and Bryan McElroy, Jr.; his great-niece Hannah McElroy; and also, Adalyne McElroy and Seth McElroy.
