She was predeceased by: her parents, James Frank Jones and Willie Lucille Duncan Jones. She is survived by: her husband Charlie Gerald Gates; her sons, John Wayne Gates (Robin) and Marty Gerald Gates (Kerry); her grandchildren, Brian Gates, Courtney Gates, Samuel Gates, Charlie Gates, Zachary Gates, Elliott, Diane Cowart (Billy) and Jeanette Swain (Bill); her brothers, Bobby Jones, Bubba Jones (Donna) and Sonny Johnson (Nancy); and her sister-in-law Rubye Gates Bain. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
