He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Dudley, Sr. and Ruth Goode Holman; and his brothers, Melvin Holman, Eddie Holman and Harold.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn F. Holman; his children, Angie McElvoy (Norment), Alvin Holman, Jr. (Rebecca) and B. J. Holman; and his siblings, Sue Holman, Sterling Holman, Jesse Holman, James Holman and Ted Holman. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
