He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Rufus and Margaret Steeley Arrington. He is survived by: his wife Diane Ingram Arrington; his children, Shannon Walters (Stephanie), Joey Walters and Felicia Creel (Michael); and his siblings, Barbara Chambers, Kenneth Arrington (Kathy), Linda Alexander (Bill) and Brenda White (Jimmy). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
