He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Lee and Mary Loftin Durant; and his brother Charles. He is survived by: his brother Larry (Gena) of Camden, Alabama.; his wife Hazel Kirchharr; his daughter Mary Nicholson (Rhett); and his great grandchildren, Nicholas Rhett Butts, Nathaniel David Butts, Travis Dean Winston, Samuel Rhett Winston and William Knight Winston. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
