He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert J. Furman, Sr. and Lorene Jones Furman; his brothers, Stephen Furman and Stuart Furman; his daughter Rosemary Furman-Skelton; his granddaughter Leah Moorman; and his son-in-law John Rose.
He is survived by: his wife Marian Perdue Furman; his children, John Furman (Melissa), Michael Furman (Marianne), James Furman (Barbara), Stephen Furman (Lee), Mary Clare Rose, Anne Marie Moorman (Tom), Teresa Grey (Willy), Paul Furman (Kati) and Laura Soper (Brad); his sister Margaret Tidwell; his sister-in-law Leah Weaver (Gil); and his children, Herb, Marian and West. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; and nine great nieces and nephews.
