He is survived by: his wife Billie Strother Gibbs; his children, Sara Kate Shorter (Peasley) of Americus, GA, Strother Gibbs (Patty) of Camden, Al Gibbs III (Hallie) of Mountain Brook and Ashley Herbert (Chris); his grandchildren, Ashley Shorter Adams (Chris), Kate Shorter Currie (Fuller), Anna Strother Gibbs, Sara Kate Gibbs Fuller (Jones), Alden Gibbs, Rae Evelyn Gibbs, Strother Gibbs, Emma Herbert, Bradley Herbert, Lane Miller (Jenny) and Melody Perryman (Stover); his great grandchildren, Jackson Thornton, Marley Thornton, Mary Stover Perryman, Camilla Lane Miller and Charles Miller; and his siblings, Bill Gibbs (Kaye) and Dana Spells Morse (David).
