She was predeceased by: her husband Terrell Pickett; her daughter Mary Burch; and her brothers, Morris Horton, Wayne Horton and Larry Horton.

She is survived by: her brother Rev. Jimmy Joe Horton; her children, Perry Blackerby, Rhonda Pate (Wayne), Regina Bates (Raymond) and Mark Blackerby (Christie); her adoptive son Steven Blackerby; her daughter-in-law Lalitha Blackerby; her grandchildren, Rekha Blackerby, Braydon Bates, Priya Blackerby, Amber Blackerby, Garrett Bates and Katie Blackerby; and her siblings, Jimmie Ruth Headley (Lamar), Elton Horton (Faye) and Harry Horton (Beth). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer's of Central Alabama at alzca.org.
