He was predeceased by: his wife Della Jean Norris; his son Garland Norris; his grandchildren, Kingsley Howell Walters and Ava Rose Norris; his parents, Barney Lee and Versie Norris; and his siblings, Leatrice Ward, Carlos Norris and Norman Norris.
He is survived by: his children, Penny Abernathy (Roger), Ronnie Norris (Dinah), Donnie Norris, Jenny Walters (Billy), Cindy Howton (Leroy), Donna Jarvis (Phillip) and Michael Norris (Nancy); his sisters, Edna Sue Attaway (Charles), Helen Fowler, Melvy Thomas (Julian), Ruby Smith and Ruth Murphy (Tommy); and his brother-in-law James Ward We. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
