He was predeceased by: his parents, Jason David and Zedie Maddox Helms. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Dean Helms; and his children, Deborah Triplett, Cheryl Wooten (Jerry), David Helms and Clifford Helms (Debra). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to Baptist's Children's Home. 354 West St., Suite 1, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
