He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold H. Sides and Essie Mae Harris Sides; and his brothers-in-law, Gordon Busby and Ellis Garner. He is survived by: his spouse Unafae Busby Sides; his children, DeAnn Sides Rochester (Tony) and John H. "Randy" Sides, Jr.; his grandchildren, Kelly Rochester, Kari Rochester and Kristen Sides; his great grandchild Brooks Watts; his sister Katherine Garner; and his siblings-in-law, Eugene Busby (Jane), Roger Dale "Tim" Busby (Lois) and Eleanor Busby. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
