He was predeceased by: his parents, George L. Edwards, Sr. and Ruth Marie Harding Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Jan; his stepchildren, Rob Pattillo (Teressa) and Jennifer Pattillo; and his grandchildren, Emily, William and Matthew.

In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the Rev. George L. Edwards Memorial Fund at Grace Christian Church, 869 County Road 52, Helena, AL 35080.
