He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Leland Davis and Edith Burns Davis; his siblings, Oscar "Sonny Boy" Davis (Jean), Ruth Davis Stache and Donna Davis Gibbs; his brother-in-law Joey Stache; and his sister Lea Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Moody Davis; his children, Rhonda Davis Woodson and Richard Alan Davis (Terry); his grandchildren, Charles Jackson Woodson, Jr. (Allison), William Wayland Woodson (Lauren), Mary Katherine Davis Marshallsea (Jack) and Anna Margaret Davis; his sisters, Anna Davis Stache and Linda Davis Roberts; his brothers-in-law, Augie Stache and Tommy Gibbs; and his siblings, Swan Poole, Sue Jenkins (Melvin), Leland Davis (Linda) and Thomas Davis (Ramona). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
