He was predeceased by: his parents, Augustus Gus Bumpers and Daisy Truett Bumpers of Coffeeville; his siblings, Ceathil Bumpers, Leon Bumpers, Kathleen Deas, June Roseberry and Lyndal Scruggs; and his grandson Luke Jackson.
He is survived by: his wife Becky G. Bumpers of Butler; his children, Roderick Bumpers, Jr. of Butler, Amanda Bumpers Gibson (Allen) of Butler and Mirian "Mim" Bumpers Jackson (Johnny) of Tuscaloosa; his grandchildren, Rachel Leigh Aldridge, Daisy Rebecca Aldridge, Johnny "Trey" Jackson, III, Matthew Trent Aldridge and Isabel "Izzy" Ruth Jackson; his sisters, Doris Buendicho of Mobile, Jackie Cox (Johnny) of Mobile and Patricia Meyer (Bob) of Daphne; his mother-in-law Ruth Gibson of Butler; and his siblings-in-law, Dee Bumpers and John Gibson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
