It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxwell Skelton of Butler, Alabama, who passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Abner Skelton and Ruth Shirley Skelton; and his brother Donnie Skelton. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Skelton of Butler; his children, Scott Skelton (Amy) of Flora, Mississippi and Jone McCollum (Jamie) of Madison, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Jace Athow (David), Kathy Bailey (Andy), Merritt McDonald (Danny), Josh Skelton and McKenzie Skelton; and his great grandchildren, Easton Bailey, Elliot Bailey, Margot Athow, Evelyn Athow and Charlotte Athow.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family kindly request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Butler Volunteer Fire Department or Calvary Baptist Church of Butler.
