With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John T. Hughes of Butler, Alabama, born in Lucedale, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 9, 2024 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Hughes, Sr. and Laura Lee Ford; his wife Sally Marie Wallace Hughes; his brothers, Rodney Means and Roy Means; and his granddaughter Jaycee Nicole Ford.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Hughes Garrett (Shane), Jason Lee Hughes (Tonya), Johnny Ford and Doug Ford; his grandchildren, Justin Martsching, Matthew Martsching, Christopher Martsching, Tabitha Leager, John Leager, Oliva Decker and Jason Lee Hughes, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Lynley Martsching, Stevie Ray Martsching and Creed; his great-grandparents, Kathy and Brenda Estes; and also Jason.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Eureka Baptist Church (7540 Co Rd 32, Lisman, AL 36912).
The family kindly request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
