He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Edna O'Field and Joseph Brooks; his wife Flora Boston Brooks; his stepchildren, Anthony Boston, Micheal Boston and Lisa Johnson; and his siblings, Jesse Brooks, Lee Brooks, Willie Brooks, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Brooks.
He is survived by: his daughter Margaree Ruffin of Lisman, AL; his grandchildren, Duwayne Ruffin of Kokomo, IN, Jeremey Johnson, Clarmetric Ruffin and Regina Milsap; his great grandchildren, Kane, Kiana and Tarianna; his siblings, Edna Mae Brooks, Theresa Brooks-Fanning (Paul), Ceazer Brooks (Georgia), David Brooks (Bonnie) and George Brooks (Ruby); and also Barbara Coleman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
