Gates (Charlotte Harmon), Janice Nicole Hines (Skylor) and Nancy Jumper (Glenn); and his siblings, Bruce Gates, Joyce Brake, Virginia Kerley, Robbie Cassidy, Annie Ruth Mitchell and Lucille Capps. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren.
