He was predeceased by: his mother Nina Hunt; his stepfather Haisten Hunt; his half-brother Tommy Hunt; his stepson Darren Kell; and his granddaughter Patricia Elkins.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Jacobs; his children, Mike Jacobs (Darlene), Sherri Elkins and Wendy Thomaston; and his stepson Derrick Kell (Tina). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
