She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon Leroy Hargraves and Ollie Hesters of Virginia; and her sisters, Betty Ridgon, Martha Waters and Bobbie Waters.

She is survived by: her husband David Arthur McPherson Sr.; and her children, Cindy Hearn, Sue Hearn, Robert Hearn, Louise Ross and Kathy Antolick. She is also survived by children and grandchildren.
